sorry put reply in wrong place not doing to well today.i found agnes teresa and margaret at number 3.In the 1901census a murphy family lived at number 5 the occupation was victuallers so was it a pub? the names of the murphys dont tie in with my family my aunt wasnt born till 1925 and she remembers her mums address in ireland ,she told me it was york street off mcCurtain st so that must be right yet no5 in 1911 is a boarding house and no murphys living there, something not right but will keep going regards chris

Christine,
Because your Aunt lived at York Terrace,in 1925 it doesn't mean that other addresses/ family's can be discounted,at this stage,If i'm stuck I tend to follow strange/ odd christian names,on the 1911 census I gave it stated that 12 children born 9 survived 6 were living at harrington place and 3 at york terrace, with the names you gave. Are you sure the info from your Aunt is correct.

Christine...Lets go back to the start on this...
The York St you refer to is the one off King/latterly McCurtain St.
The 1911 Census for No 5 York Street is not a "Boarding House" per se...just a house that has lodgers...
Do Agnes Teresa and Margaret (at No 3) belong to your family...?
