Thank you again Ginny, you really are helping me a lot.

I know he arrived in New York in 1896 and went to Chicago, that was when he stayed with his brother Alfred Ernest Bill, but he left Chicago about 1901 and then he was found in Los Angeles and I think he married again there at a later date and had another daughter.

He left Clara in England with three children, one of which was called Frank Bill as well, this is where is gets complicated. It maybe that the one who died in 1931 was his son.

Thanks again

Jennifer

Jennifer

How do you know he was in LA?

Jennifer

Jennifer Report 15 May 2011 18:55

My Grandmother was looking for him, her father, many years ago (1920)and I was recently given a letter that she received from someone in Los Angeles who bought a property that his wife and daughter were living in as tenants. She kept it and it has only recently come to light.

Come on then Jen....part with the address and date on the letter :-)

Jennifer

Jennifer Report 15 May 2011 20:10

Sorry, did not think we could give out addresses, here it is
1302 West 9th Street
Los Angeles, Cal.

The address was printed but the writing is very illegible, think the date says 8 May 1920

It may be a completely different Mrs Bill, looks like he wasn't with her then, may have died or gone off again!!!

Has anyone any access to Passenger Lists for incoming ships from USA to Liverpool, think Frank Bill may have come back sometime after WWI.

Thanks for any help given.
