Following on from the ? arrival of the LOVE family, there is a marriage for John LOVE b. Greenoch to Anne Wilson NIXON in 1866 (reg 2817). If he was 4 when he arrived that means he married at around 18. They lived in Melbourne area.

Also a John LOVE b. Greenoch m. in 1875 to Amanda FROMENT (reg 725) (not the same John). They were in Brunswick.

But no matches likewise for Eliza LOVE or FULLER, nor a death for her. So could be another wild goose chase I'm afraid.

I did find Harrison & Emily VANCE - both died in Western Australia. Emily died 3/2/1935 aged 77, so age does not fit for Emily LOVE's birth in 1867.

:-(

Kevin - just another thought - does John & Jane's marriage cert show their ages? Might help find John's death.

Hope your visit to the cemetery was interesting, tho as I said I don't think this is the right Jane...

Well I visited the Cemetery and we have the wrong Jane.
So both death certificates I obtained are wrong.

But I would have to say the marriage certificate is Ok at this stage. Lets hold your original theory - I still think that is holding well.

The grave had a headstone that was placed by the son - Leslie. It quoted:

In Loving Memory of
Jane
The beloved Wife of
Charles Fuller
Died 18 Feb 1893
Aged 52

Also the above Husband
Charles Fuller
Died 12 Sep 1905
Age 62

Also William
The dearly Beloved Husband of
Mabel Francis
Died 21 May 1929
Age 60

Erected by Son Leslie

I'll check more when I get home tomorrow where all my notes are

Thanks

Just answering one of your questions:

On the marriage certificate the ages given were:
John 32 and Jane 30

Remember Mcintyre was Janes mothers maiden name.

Also shown that Jane was widowed in 1867 Melbourne.

But the children - although they went ot write in the alive column - that was then crossed out and four was placed in the dead column.

Now I don't believe all 4 are dead - I think this was more a cover up.
I also think Janes age was maybe increased since everything else was pointing to her being born 1841 where the marriage certificate points to 1837.

It also shows they were living at the same address - Sackville Street, Collingwood. (no number given)

Anyway I am off again for a few days to my sisters but may have some contact from to time. Searching some of my past in Warrnambool.

Shame about the certs :-(

There are a few possibles for John's arrival to Vic.

Saldanha Sep 1856 aged 20 from UK
City of Hobart June 1862 aged 27 from NZ
Alhambra Aug 1863 aged 27 from NZ

Two travelling alone, the one of City of Hobart with Thomas aged 36.

Still no luck finding Jno's death.

Enjoy your time away!

Just found this in NSW:

3474/1903 FULLER JANE (MORRISON) REDFERN

????

Could be a complete coincidence once again.

If you are really keen to eliminate or confirm, you could try a transcription agent and only pay for certain fields initially (e.g birthplace, spouse, age).

Took a break today and went after some photos of the town in 1860. Fascinating - of cause another family line.

I have looked at shipping for maybe James Love and Jane Morrison coming in together - but no luck.
I searched McIntyres - lots of them but nothing, Morrison's etc.

I am thinking down the lines now that first, the marriage certificate I feel very much holds to the theory. Especially that she was widowed, she had 4 kids, and her maiden name was Morrison. So a major link but still not totally definite.

But maybe the next would be to search and find definite marriages of each child and then obtain one or two certificates. Looking probably for the Mothers and Fathers names/surname. I know from my garndfather James he stated that his parent were John Fuller and Jane Morrison. _ So I wonder what the others would have done.

Talking with my sister today I think a visit to my aunt may be a must right now. Although she and my father were step kids, their common father may have told her more about the past and may know something about the name change - I wonder.

I know my father asked nothing, but she did have information that surprised me many years ago. So obviously she may even have more and since my father has died she may now tell me.
Who knows but it is worth a visit - she is my only aunt now.

Now about names - hers is Margaret and if there was any carrying forward of names well they have done that for the 4 Love children.

Thank you again - I'll keep you posted.
