You may be able to get the interest of someone local to access local records.

LadyKira Report 13 Oct 2010 20:00

My next suggestion would be to find someone with electoral rolls. You know where she was when she died.
Also try genuki to find local churches. Lots of records are still being transcribed.
Try roots chat as they have a section that is geography based so finding someone with local knowledge.

I really don't see why you think Edith is Emma and Ronald is John.

What do you base this on ?

In view of the latest piece of info ......

"we think that emma real name is edith and she was from norfolk and that john use the name john because in did like the name ronaold "

Could this be the couple ( one page mistranscribed )

Michael
I thought I actually had spent quite a long time trying to help you.
You will not always get answers straight away.
Sometimes you spend years stuck on one person.
If I choose to help you out of my own busy time and I choose to post "rubbish" to my friends that is my choice.
I believe the purpose of Ginny's thread has been explained.
Sometimes people duplicate the same thread half a dozen times without reading any of their replies and we get frustrated. We spend a lot of time trying to explain the system to new people as it is not helpful to them.
I believe you have upset my friend Ginny.

Michael, you sent me a lovely message but I couldn't find the thread I had posted on, and I think this was because you maybe have deleted it and started a new one? The best thing is to keep one thread which relates to the same query. This helps as people can then keep track of all the info. It's better for you as well as the people trying to help out. That's all that people are saying really.

Back to your query, I really can't find that marriage. I wonder if she was married previously - do you think this might be a possibility?

Michael

The reason why the thread headed "Do not post the same family twice" is often at the top of the TTF board is a reminder to members

The thread shows Ginny·s name as the original author - but it is not her spending all day - everyday - posting it to the top of the board

Many members write on the thread - and every entry made - will cause the thread to move to the top of the TTF board

It is also "nudged" - by this I mean that if a member is working at answering requests for help - sees other members posting the same family name - several times -

They open Ginny s reminder thread - Adds an entry - for example types "Nudge" and as all postings are timed stamped - by the system - it moves to the top of the TTF

As indeed happened - just after midnight last night by a member working on the TTF board - and I happened to know Ginny was in bed by 10.00 pm last night -

So she certainly was not writing " Rubbish " as you kindly wrote to her

I would suggest - that as I do not actually have the experience and/or knowledge to accurately help with other members "requests" ---- and Michael they are requests for help ---

I would recommend in future - you send any more of your offensive PM s to me - and not to members who actively solve and assist voluntarily many many members

Or _ of course - the easy - proper option - do not send offensive PM s to members mail boxes

Michael - this is an exact copy illustrating my point

Oh I see....I thought I had upset YOU personally!

The thread you refer to is not aimed at anyone in particular. It is posted in an attempt to help people, all people which includes not only the poster but the volunteer helpers too.

If people post asking about 'John Doe' and then get lots of replies that’s all well and good.

The problem arises when they go on to post another thread about the very same person

This creates more work that has already been done and may I add is against the 'rules' of GR

If you care to look through the threads on GR you will indeed see that I do help a lot of people and did try to help you on your thread but I deleted the info as it was ‘pants’ in other words ‘rubbish’

Can I suggest that if you need help on GR, you don’t go upsetting helpers by telling them they are talking rubbish....just a tip ;)

Micheal Report 12 Oct 2010 08:01
