Sorry to be a bit of a pedant but her maiden name shows as O'Connor not O'Conner.

This all looks a bit iffy to me. What is your connection to the Spilling family and why do you believe that Horace might have had a sister Olive?

Horace's parents seem to have spent most if not all of their lives in Norfolk so it may be assumed that any children they may have had would most probably have been born there. There are no birth registrations of an Olive Spilling in Norfolk 1880~1910.

This may or may not be Katie O'Connor in 1901:

There are two people on here who have Horace in their tree, one has a year of birth as 1888 and the other as 1885 - which we know is wrong. It might be worth contacting them if they are any connection to the family.

There is also someone on Ancestry who has them on their tree, with two children - one who died in 1997 and one who appears to be still living.

Yes sorry about that i just noticed the spelling was wrong. I know there is no record but I was given info that he did have a sister Olive and I am trying to determine that he didn't. Sounds bizarre but to find somethings you have to eliminate others and i think you are doing that splendidly . Olive is a total mystery apart from I believe she could have run away from home about 1904ish if she had been born here and my last hope was Horace. Also lost a james Spilling 1886 the rest of his family were unfortunate to be in a workhouse but not him, he disappeared before his siblings were put there. i used to think he was related to olive and Horace but i now think horace is on the map and not related in any way.

The details on Ancestry of the daughter they had who died in 1997, states she - Catherine was born in 1910 but no place of birth is given. No birth registration can be found in England / Wales. Perhaps the family were in Scotland or elsewhere for a time. Catherine went on to marry in 1932 in London so the family, or her at least, were in the country then.

The other child was a daughter.

Thanks Paul, sorry I took so long to get back to you but I have only just seen this. I am beginning to think that Olive was perhaps married before she became Olive May so that Spilling was not her maiden name as there is no record of her anywhere.
