Find Ancestors

Hello,

I have been wondering how to start to find my nans great aunt, who she said died in the russian revolution. I cant ask my mum (she died only two years ago) and we just found out before she died, the name of my nans mum, who sadly died giving birth to her !
As you can see I dont know where to start ?? is her great aunt - from her grandfather/mothers sisters ?

If you can give us a few more details of the family - like where they were from - we'll see what we can find. Who was your nan's mum?

Who died in the Russian revolution - it can't be Nellie as you have her death as 1983?

My nan was Nellie Giggle - her great aunt died in Russian Revolution - what was she doing there ???

Her dad was Robert Giggle b 1863 hudderfield and her mum was Annie horsfall b 1862 - but she died giving birth to my nan in 1892

Roberts Father was Edwin Giggle b 1834 Huddersfield and he had brothers saville b1836, alfred b 1834, Issac b 1831

If it was your Nan's great aunt who died in the Russian revolution then she must have been quite old? or am I getting a bit lost here? Just working on the assumption that she ( the gt aunt) was either married to someone there or working....

you will really need to find all the female siblings of nellie's grandparents first and then work through them to see who they married or whether they had an occupation that might have taken them to Russia?

It could be on her mothers side but nan never knew her mum, .....but relatives could have told her ??

Also minnie and ethel ended up living with a relative in Manchester ??

Nan also said we had a welsh connection which I did find !!!
