hi. i am having some problems finding out what happened to george thick, born c1827 to richard and mary ann thick. i have traced him through to the 1861 census where he was serving as a private in the royal marines at birkenhead. the only other record i found is for a marriage in 1862 for a george thick in dorset. this record does not tell me his age or who he married so cannot say if this is the same man. this information all comes from the bdm files. hope someone can give some help. thanks john.

there are several georgethicks born somerset/ one was as a baker

how do you know yours was the sailor not the baker

i say that because on ancestry at least 1 person whon saved that 1851 also saved the baker.

they may or may not be correct we have to prove one way or the other.

do you have personal knowledge of him being a sailor?

how do you know father was richard?
