You need to search for matches using "search trees" above for starters. As you have the marriage cert you have their ages so rough birth years. you could also search for matches for their fathers.
You could also look for their births on Freebmd and if you can locate them see what their mothers' maiden names were..
How did you come by this cert, ot of interest?

Where did you get the cert?

Do any of the names feature in your tree?

To find contacts on GR.....look in search trees

The ages are Charles 27 And Constance 26, ordered the certificate because i though that Constance Robinson was related to my late Mother-in-law, thus allowing me to go back or forth to try and find more relatives

Are you saying you are stuck with your mother-in-law? If you haven't already done so, I would put details on here for us to have a crack at it.

The best way to follow through with your MIL is to tell us her details..............as she is deceased, there is no issue with privacy.......and we'll see what we can find

Assuming that she hadn't been married before and that Robinson was her maiden name, then one of these births May be hers. Does the MMN match with your knowledge of your late mother-in-law's family?

well i have only got Albert Robinson married to a Elizabeth Shepherd and 8 siblings living at 71 fourth avenue, manor park, london on 1911 census, but cant make out all the names of the children, so maybe the 4 children after 1911 are her siblings! But do you think this Horace Robinson has any connection? has anyone found the family or connections on 1901 Census? thanks for helping me , I have not found this tree easy

rootgatherer Report 5 Mar 2011 14:23

The first thing you need to do is get Eileen's birth certificate to confirm her parent's names. Do you have her marriage certificate please? What is her father's name and occupation on that?

Regarding Horace - you don't have any proof yet (or at least that you have shared with us) that Constance is related to Eileen.

Do you know where Eileen was born please? Do you know for sure that her mother's maiden surname was Shephard? Please tell us all you know if you want us to help.

If you are trying to do this without buying any certificates you could very easily end up with a completely inaccurate and worthless tree - especially with such a common surname.

Flick Report 5 Mar 2011 16:35

When did Eileen die? What was her surname?

As she died so recently, one assumes that you knew her......did she ever say what her father's name was?

Doesn't your husband know the names of his grandparents?

To be perfectly honest, you seem to be approaching this search in the wrong way entirely.

Don't look for marriages of people who may - or may not - be siblings.

Get 100% accurate info about Eileen's parentage as your FIRST priority....then spread the search wider.........

Don't try to guess whether Horace is related...........he probably isn't, to be blunt.

If you would like us to help you - it is imperative that you help us to do so, by telling us clearly all you KNOW about Eileen.......and any of her relations about whom you have facts.

Our postings crossed

You should have told us all this before................would have saved a lot of unnecessary searching

What prompted you to get the 1938 marriage cert?

Or did it come to you through family?
