Good morning.
Received my grandfathers birth cert this morning. At first I thought I'd ordered the wrong one. I was looking for George Frederick Green. Got the index, sent for the cert that duly arrived today. Under the name column it states Joseph omg.
There's a 10th column Baptismal name if added after reg, here it states George Frederick phew. So I now have his mothers name. Minnie Green nee Gibbons. I have a match for the marriage index in sepQ 1898.
I have then looked at the 1911 census but I can't get a hit using Genes.

Could someone with access to 1911 @FMP look up for me I'd be grateful.
I have no hits at Genes using either minnie or Joseph. I don't have an age for either but they appear to be married in 1898 possibly.
I have an address also, but no address search @ Genes :( .
George Frederick was born 17/3/1911 at 153 Bridge Street West, birmingham. Which is also the fathers address on the cert. Sub-district on birth cert is St George with georges fathers profession stated as a silversmith if this helps

1911 census taken 2/4/1911.
So George frederick Green should be on one.

Hi Val,

LOL! I really wasn't questioning the name (Williams...although that will be a big ???)..it was the Holloway Herr and CB that caught me off guard.

I wouldn't dismiss that Williams census just yet. Not completely impossible they have changed their name for some reason. What are the chances of a minnie with husband having similar occupation living in the same house? And a child born there too!

ValT Report 12 Mar 2011 13:59

Maybe Herr should be Head.
There is a Holloway Head road in Birmingham.

I thought that the enumerator may have put next doors name instead of Green.

Jan,
"What are the chances of a minnie with husband having similar occupation living in the same house? And a child born there too!"
I'd say.......none. And the child is listed as "under 1 month".

Val,
God bless them, but the enumerators had nothing to do with the 1911. (supposedly!)

Might be a red herring but this Joseph is a silversmith:

1901 England Census

Name: Joseph Green
Age: 29
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1872
Relation: Head
Spouse's Name: Annie Green
Gender: Male
Where born: Birmingham, Warwickshire, England

Civil parish: Birmingham
Ecclesiastical parish: St Matthias
County/Island: Warwickshire

Registration district: Birmingham
Sub-registration district: St George
embers:
Name Age
Joseph Green 29
Annie Green 24

Just wonder if there are some shenanigans going on here!

Maureen,
God bless them indeed.
So thankful for all the past census.

We have just received our 2011 census forms to fill in.
Maybe we should change our names , just to confuse our descendants.
Knowing my family and their possible off spring they will not even look for me. (boohoo)
