Find Ancestors

Hi I am trying to find my grandfather his name was Maurice Stanley Baker and he came from Cavindish Sudbury essex, He married my nan Dorothy at colchester registery office i also believe he was in the army, they had a daughter my mum Janice, the last time my mum saw him was 36 years ago before she got married. I believe he is in touch with other family members connected to my nan but due to family arguments I can not approch them for information and also know that they would not give any to me, My mum has always wanted him in her life but due to interferring relatives thought it was better to lie and say she wanted nothing to do with him. I hope someone can help as iwould love to know him and let him know he has great grandchildren

thanks yes Cavendish is in Suffolk I know his mum lived there as for a few dates the only date i have is my mums birthday 14/05/57 but if Carolyn is right that is my nan so they married december 1956 do you have any more info Carolyn?? thanks

I found those details on the Ancestry marriage indexes and the only other info is the reference no. which is 4a 1006. To find out more details such as Maurice's age and father's name you will need to order a copy of the marriag certificate from the GRO quoting that reference. Good luck.

Maurice Stanley Baker born 1921 in the district West Ham and county of Essex, Suffolk

Mothers Maiden name was Digby

Any further help is much appreciated

If you look on freebmd there are 10 possible siblings for Maurice born in West Ham between 1915 and 1934. It may be possible to work forward from some of those. A death for on of his older siblings may give an informant's address that is still current?
