Can someone please check the census for me?
I have Mary Jane Kirkwood born c1848 possibly in Glasgow or Greenock, her parents were John and Janet Kirkwood (ms Mooney).
I'm trying to find out if Mary Jane had any siblings.

No idea about how to looks for Irish births/marriages! How do you know her parents' names?

I missed this! Neice Catherine's occupation is "Fatuous Person"!!!

I don't know where the parents names came from, that's what my daughter has on the tree. (She started the tree, got fed up and I took over)

I know, I mean all the family apart from John born Steventon. I didn't really understand what you meant- "can you please check Ireland for me but I'm sure she was born in Scotland.".

You need to get evidence for those names first though I think.

Just checked ScotlandsPeople (Mary Jane's marriage) and the parents are John Kirkwood and it looks like Jane (not Janet) Mooney.

That's hilarious Marion, just about right for my family. lol

You do have to be wary of Scottish Janets - I understand the name can vary between Janet, Jane, Jean, Jeannie and possibly more!

Sandra, how did you (or your daughter) get back to Mary Jane? So you have info on any children? If we can find her on the census after her marriage, it will help to trace her back.
