There are loads of McMahon-Bannon births in Newcastle. Have you not checked them out on FreeBMD?

There's a Mary 1922, for instance.

It's always possible that the marriage wasn't in England, or that the wife had been previously married and didn't marry as Bannon.

The first thing you really need is a child's birth certificate to get the mother's full name. Is it not possible to get Mary's?

But a family member does know her date of birth, hopefully.

There is a Mary McMahon mmn Bannon Newcastle but would suggest this is the William and Margaret family too

It's just that the William McMahon + Bannon marriage was 1919, and there are McMahon-Bannon births before that ... interestingly:
