Hello genes reunited

I am looking for the marriage record of James Steel. He was born in Stapleton, Cumberland in 1790, he is mentioned in the 1861 census, aged 71. His younger brother was Joseph Steel, born 1797.

Do you know of any children he may have had? Are the records that Dee found possible?

Interesting, there seems to be multiple James, this is gonna be tricky.

I think it is likely he married Mary, since by the time of the Julia marriage, he would have been 50, a bit late in life isnt it?

Umm........ not too late to remarry and have more children if your wife was young enough.

However I would state that Mary was the mother of Mary born in 1827..... whether the marriage for James and Mary is correct I am unsure???

that could possibly be him, but he was born in 1790, not 1789. It is possible that the census of 1861, when he is recorded as being 71 may have been taken before or after his birthday on that year
