But you need the Cutler + Jolly marriage certificate, and then the Joseph Edward Cutler birth certificate, to confirm anything. The marriage certificate will give his father's name, and that's where you need to start.

Certificates, not tales of running away to sea, are what family trees are actually made of. ;)

There's a new thread Janey as I'm looking for the Cutler side, not the Flynn side, and not that generation, the higher generation.

I do use the free bmd and ancestry sites, but like I said at the beginning. It's a long shot and I was hoping to find a person who knew of this story, that was related that I could get in contact with.

Jax I've ordered the marriage certificate for Joseph Cutler and Ellen Flynn, which will hopefully give me his parents names, then I can trace them and order those and continue that way. Cheers.

Could this also be a family story that has been passed down that there was a lot of money in the family ect ect.....we all have them
