Find Ancestors

I've tried to find the spouse of John Hancox, marriage in Shipston-on-Stour Jan-Mar 1882. Usually clicking on the page number brings up the spouse/choice of spouses. But this time it produces no result, either in FreeBMD or Ancestry. The volume is 6d, page number is 689. Any ideas, anyone?

Try looking at the full list of marriages for the qtr/district.

Look for page numbers which could be mistranscribed as 689....and employ a process of elimination........

'Shipston' is in italics.....so obviously a 'suspect' district

Where was John born?

I wonder if this might be the missing one? Trouble is it does seem to be 669 on the image and John's is 689. Shipston is also in italics.

You could be right there, maybe I was wrong about the John Hancox in Wallasey, the trouble is there are so many Hancoxes in Tysoe and so many with the same forename. Not being able to trace his wife's name was the stumbling-block but if ***alviegal*** is right about Mary York that would make sense.
