I am trying to locate Sarah and Mary Halliday and the only information that I have for them is that their parents were John Halliday 1860 (coal miner from Northumberland) he married Mary Smith1863 died1893 as she died young. I think her two daugthers were then sent to Canada on the Corinthian as below but can anyone please tell me how I can locate them in Canada or access records for these family members as I do not know where to start next?

Sarah Ann Halliday aged 12 and her sister Mary J Halliday 1899 were in a party from Dr Barnardoes that boarded CORINTHIAN 25/09/1913 from London and arrived Peterboroughm Ontatio, Canada.

Thank you Vicky.

Just a word about border crossings. Most of them say St. Albans, Vermont but that's only because it was the main collection point for the records. If you look at the original for that 1923 one you'll see that it's actually Port Huron, Michigan. Also if you look at the next page she's going to join friend Thomas Nicholson, Benton, Illinois.

Yes, Ozi, I think she must have known him. I wondered how. Why else would she go to Illinois to visit this friend then marry him?
