Hi,
I am looking for any information concerning Maria Mc Nabb who became Holden when she married my great grandfather in 1800s he was John Holden and they had William John Holden Jan 1885 in Stoughton Brarracks Guildford Surrey.
Maria died young so I was told by my grandfather William John Holden.
My mothers father. she was born in 1920 in Brecon then Brecknock.
Any help please as stuck and want to know where Maria came from when she was born and when she died and where.
Thank you
Susan

No Trace? my grandfather had brothers and maybe sisters but his father remarried after Maria died and my grandfather left home as a young man to join up as so unhappy with out his mum. my grand father was a real gent and so loving.
I grow up with this unknown and all the older family members are dead but one who says very little.

Its sounds as though she did marry below what her father thought was right. He was a manufacturer, his son in law a gardener? You may be able to find out where and what he manufactured in hemel hempsted in the way of dresser brushes. A dresser brush is what we would call a dressing table set ( dont have them these days)

She was a paper folder in the mils - Dickinsons Mill possibly - not sure when that was founded, but it was a big paper manufacturer just outside Boxmoor
