You would have to buy the birth certificate to make sure it is your Robert John?

Do you have any information on the birth years for the children?

I cannot find a marriage for Robert John to Catherine???

Lynski

Lynski Report 12 May 2011 22:01

If you can't find them in the census, how do you know that Robert John married Catherine Mary?

Where have you found that information?

Robin7

Robin7 Report 12 May 2011 22:02

no i only have Gwenllian Parry who was my grandma born 11.3.1912 my dad says he belives Gwen was the youngest.

Yes i saw that one on Ancestry Lynne but some of the names dont match but then i thought maybe my dad got it wrong with some names ?.

I know Katie is right as Gwen's seconded husband mentions her a few times in his diarys. I wonder if Nan was Susanah ?

Lynski

Lynski Report 12 May 2011 22:15

It looks as though they were using their middle names?? Catherine would be Kate?

The birth place of Robert John matches your information.

Robin7

Robin7 Report 12 May 2011 22:16

lol yes it would just be like my lot to go around using middle names. :D

Robin7

Robin7 Report 12 May 2011 22:18

aaarrhhh yes just remebered my dad said Gwenllian was born in Bargoed which is what you have found there on Henry Street well done Lynne and Thank You.

Lynski

Lynski Report 12 May 2011 22:19

Do you have your grandmother's birth certificate? This would confirm her mother's name.

With regards to the names, I asked my mother for information and her brother Jack turned out to be John Robert so names used were not always accurate.

Susannah could be Nan? I know that Nan is a common one for Annie.

Ozibird

Ozibird Report 12 May 2011 22:19

So 1901 is not a goer? I know the age is out, but if he's not sure where he's born, he might not know his exact age.

Ozi

Robin7 Report 12 May 2011 22:24

Yes i have need to send off for some certs now. i have Gwen's wedding cert to her first husband which comfirms her dads name. so will have to send for the best matches for her birth.

Lynski

Lynski Report 12 May 2011 22:25

I would say that your 1901 is a goer, Ozi. Birth details, place of birth and occupation all seem to match the 1911 census that I found and if they had 5 children then the first one wasn't born until after the 1901 census which means they would not have had any children at that time.
