Find Ancestors

Could someone with worldwide access please look up this man for me.

He married EDITH KATHERINE FOWLER 9 March 1876 at Holy Trinity Brompton Rd London and they had 2 children by the 1881 census -JULIET HELEN SEVERN 1877 and EDITH BERYL SEVERN 1880.
In the 1881 census his place of birth is stated abroad Brit subject.

I think he may be from USA as a hint comes up on Ancestry same name but as I don't have access I can't tell.

He died in UK in Feb 1883 in Kent and has a probate record mentioning his wife.

Can any one also find out anything about the children?

I would be grateful for any help. My line is the Fowler line and his wife was my Grandfathers sister.

BUT this would not seem to tally with the births in England of Edith Beryl and Juliet Helen

That must be the one that pops up as a hint.
My Charles was 20 years older than his wife.

Seems vague to just put abroad on the census.

I think the most likely birthplace for Charles would be India -1835 birth abroad and yet he is a british subject -that would fit with possibly his father serving in the East India Company or the Army

There is a tree on Ancestry which records a Charles Severn b 1835 Pennsylvania who's spouse is a Penelope(no surname) b 1840 Delaware
They had 2 children
Henry b 1863 Pennsylvania
Mary b1868 "

Perhaps he is the same Charles and his wife died or was divorced and came to the UK and remarried
His marriage certificate to Edith Katherine would state his marital status

There is a reference to the 1870 US Census but I don't have access

I really dont think the Delaware Charles can be the right one -he would have to be nipping across the "pond " at regular intervals if he was married in England in 1876 and producing 2 children there while still having wife and kids in US in 1880 and 1870!
I rather fancy this family but thus far havent been able to make the certain link

This seems to fit the birth abroad of Charles and suggests the wealthy lifestyle he enjoyed (estate £915 when he died -quite a lot at that time)
