Ah gosh, Chris, that makes sense. Well done again !!! I think I've caught up now (maybe ). I deleted 2 posts of mine because they were useless and the thread reads much better.
Not that it helps, but I did wonder about the Ba*ham connection. Elizabeth Green nee Ba*ham the widow who married James in 1905 doesn't seem to have ties with the Suffolk bunch . Just for the heck of it

Can anyone make out just what is after James Poole's occupation on the 1911 ? I think it says " nearly blind " . Could be wrong since I'm almost there myself.

You are all so good to me I wonder if going blind runs in the family as I went blind a year ago, I have a talking computer and that is how i am able to read your replies Thank you regards and best wishes to you all Margaret

That is interesting,Margaret . I'm hoping Chris or Dea or someone will be able to look at the 1911 image as well. You'll laugh, but on first glance I thought it read "nearly skint".
Best regards, Maureen

Lol, I see what you mean on 1911 :-))
I think Susan's surname was Newland, a Marriage for her and Charles Barker 1874 Saffron Walden. (this comes under Esssex, and covers Clavering and nearby Langley)
1861 NEWLAND, Thomas Head Married M 40 1821 Shoe Maker Clavering Essex NEWLAND, Rachell Wife Married F 44 1817 Langley Essex NEWLAND, William Son M 12 1849 Agricultural Labourer Langley Essex NEWLAND, Thomas Son M 9 1852 Scholar Clavering Essex NEWLAND, Susan Daughter F 4 1857 Scholar Clavering Essex NEWLAND, George Son M 1 1860 Langley Essex RG number: RG09 Piece: 1120 Folio: 83 Page: 12 Registration District: Saffron Walden Sub District: 1 Newport Enumeration District: 6 Ecclesiastical Parish: Rochester Civil Parish: Langley Municipal Borough: Address: Lower Green, Langley County: Essex So looks like it's all coming together, slowly :-))
Just take your time to digest it all Margaret, it may seem a bit boggling, but interesting at the same time!, lol.
