farmer,

Firstly, can you please take your caps lock off as it makes your messages very difficult to read?

Now then, you say that one of these husbands died under suspicious circumstances - which one was this?

I may be able to find something in the Newspapers about him?

John, from the info provided above the father of the Emma who married Samuel Mould and John Stanyer was called William Dale not John Rutledge. It also looks like Emma and George Dale were still together in the 1861 & 1871 census.

Rachel is with her parents George & Emma in the 1871 census so again your Emma could not have married Samuel Mould and John Stanyer.....see previous page for censuses

If Rachel Dale is your ancestor born 1869 then there is no way your Emma married those other two men - look at how the dates fit together.

According to your opening post, George Dale was her first husband and would have been dead by 1857 so Rachel wouldn't have been born 12 years later called Dale if her mother had had two changes of surname in that time.

If you are adamant that your information is correct then you need to give us your source.

John, please don't take offence at this - but never trust family information that has no back up in hard fact. Family stories get embroidered and distorted over time.

The facts that we've provided are easily proven.

I still stand by the information that proves there were two different Emmas.

EDIT: Just seen your post above (we must have crossed). Absolutely no apologies needed - just hope we have straightened the record. But, if you can winkle more info out of Aunty then do come back on here and share it and we'll dig further (we like a mystery!).

John,

Why not putAunty's info aside just for now and start with what you know.

i.e. - your parents - their parents etc..........

Let us help you work backwards and then you could bring in 'Aunty's' info to corroborate ??
