Harold Steele aged 18 is a relation of her grandmothers ( ie Elizabeth's mothers maiden name was Steele )

So, if Ethel Lily was his daughter would she have registered as Kilby? You would have to buy the birth certificate to check her parents - assuming that you wish your tree to be accurate.



The Ella Gertrude listed as Elizabeth's daughter in 1911 is living with her Grandmother Mary Orton in 1901. (see 1901 census posted above)

I do of couse wish my tree to be accurate. That is why I always questtion every detail before continuing.....and definately before entering the info onto my tree...

the 1901 census shows:

there is obviously some ( as yet unkown ) connection between the Kilby's & Newberry's in 1901 - even though Vincent Kilby didnt marry Ethel Newbury until 1916.

Oh well, never mind. I'll leave it anyway so others know this record has already been looked into.

Is there a street address / occupation info etc for that 1901 census by any chance please?

Again the only way to know for sure who his parents are is to buy the certificate. Elizabeth is listed as a widow in 1891 so are the children born after her husbands death actually her illegitimate children?
