Yes, that's her, Dianne - that's what the "previous researcher" found, I just didn't post the details. As you said earlier, the insistence on Rosanna and Ellen at being born Stoke Works is significant.

My friend found an old OS map with Stoke Works on it, is setting off as we speak on a walk round the area.

I'm hanging fire with any more searching on Peter Harris and Sarah Smith, and son William in 1841 till she gets the marriage cert to determine their parents - should be here any day now.

There isn't much of the 'old' Stoke Works to see now. There is a book about the village called 'Stoke Works, Memories of our Forgotten Village', by Eunice James-Stanton'. It may be difficult to get now, It's got quite a lot of good pictures in it. There is even a story I wrote for my own pleasure in the book. I don't know how Eunice got that !!

Try contacting Caroline Warr. She is also researching one of RoseAnn's brothers.

Update. Marriage of Peter Harris to Sarah Smith, 1842. Fathers John Harris, saltmaker and Richard Smith, waterman.

Peter is a widower, so was the child William b 1839 the child of his first wife, also called Sarah?
