Very grateful for your help if you have a John Cornelius Dickinson or Sarah Amos in your trees. They were married in 1899 in Wednesbury. |

On Sarah's marriage certificate it say Jacob deceased in 1899. Profession states Jacob as a mechanic but she marries an iron worker which fits in with the Amos family. |

Sarah wasn't with her parents Jacob and Mary Ann in 1891, as she was working as a servant. Interesting that the boarder where she worked was in the gas tube trade, as was the 'single' Jacob Amos from 1881. |

Wow! You are a star! Do you do this for a living. A servant at 13? Who needs Downton! :-D My grandfather (on the other side) I am searching had a maid to look after him. How strange :-D |

This is the only FreeBMD birth I could find for Jacob Amos. It ties in with the birthplace of gas tube Jacob as Wolverhampton in 1871. |

Thanks for your help! As I see it there are 2 possible Jacob's and Sarah's? |

My gut feeling is that 'single' Jacob in 1871/1881 is actually the Jacob who was married to Mary Ann Rose, but you might need to get their marriage cert from 1877 that I posted, to confirm both his occupation and that of his father, along with his father's name. |
