i have searched for info on harry barnes and alathe parker ,married in first quarter 1918 in sheffield.
i can not find any info past that especialy alathea parkers past.
if anyone could help i would be greatful.

You will need to get their marriage cert. This will give their ages and fathers' names and occupations. You can then look for them on the 1911 census.

hello everyone
i have just recieved the marriage cert for my grandad Harry Barnes and Alithea Parker, it looks like Alithea's husband was killed in the first world war.
Flick it looks like you are correct on all accounts.again thank you all.
i am struggling to find anything to do with Alithea after the marriage except for the birth of my dad and aunty, my dad dose not know Alithea and thinks his mother was gertrude oswald.
any help would be brill.

Are you able to give us any info on your father and why he believes his mother was gertrude Oswald?

Was he perhaps adopted?

my father was born to Harry Barnes and Alithea(spelt 3 diferrent ways in different certs) parker in 1929. my brother and cousin remember grandma oswald and i have photos of her ,i could open my tree to you then you may understand my confusion.

What does it give as her father's name on the marriage certificate?

What age does it give for her?
