Hi

I am trying to trace the family of Ann Gibson, she was born about 1776 in Northumberland, but I have no idea whereabouts, she married Joseph Bewick in Ponteland Northumberland in 1789 and died in April 1852 in Corbridge Northumberland.

Joseph is my paternal ancestor and he was born in Stamfordham Northumberland around 1774 and died in Corbridge Northumberland July 1835.

She and Joseph had the following children, Elizabeth, Robert, Jane and Ann.

i've just been going from the census, 1841 Ann states her birth was 1776 and Joseph 1774, residing in the Castle Ward - Ponteland district

I am not a 100% sure if Joseph died in 1835 as he is mentioned in the 1841 census, it would seem impossible

Looking at the dates of birth of the children ie 1815-1822, I'm wondering if Joseph married a different Ann????

On the 1841, Ann could be anything up to 69 years old.

In the 1841 Census a policy of rounding down ages was in place. As such, people aged:

Also, the baptisms may have been some time after the birth.
