Could someone please help me find a possible marriage for James Wood, the 1881 census has him living with his parents Thomas & Julia Wood living at 106 Russell Street, Sheppey Kent. The family moved to Kent from Poplar London between 1877 and 1879. On the 1911 census I have found him living with his wife "Rose" and son James at 12 West Street Gillingham. On the 1901 census James is a "Stoker" in the Navy and onboard a ship "Terpsichore" that is in Chatham, his wife and son are living at 50 Russell Street but she is listed as "Frances R" and so far I have not been able to find a marriage. On the 1911 census it has that have been married for 16 years. |

From what I have been told Rose died quite young and my gt grandfather was killed in france in 1918 and James helped my gt grandmother (his younger sister Emma) bring-up her 2 children in West street Gillingham. Hope that makes sense. |
