help please.
my father Alan KC Officer b1929 has a sister Patricia b1942(?) his mothers maiden name is Warne. Patricia's is listed as Hillman.
I have found a Hilda Hillman, in 1911 census, stepdaughter to Elijah and Harriet.but have not found birth certificate or marriage to become Warne, then Officer.
I know I'm probably missing somthing really obvious......

You say his mother's name was Warne but seem to be looking for Hilda Hillman - have you got it back to front?

Dpo you know when she died? Not sure about this one, however can find no marriage for he as Hilda G. Officer to a Hillman.

Name: Hilda G Officer

Just to satisfy the researchers:

Name: OFFICER, Alan K C
Registration District: Help Dartford
County: Kent
Year of Registration: 1929
Quarter of Registration: Oct-Nov-Dec
Mother's Maiden Name: Warne
Volume No: Help 2A
Page No: Help 978

Patricia's birth in 1942, also Dartford, does say mmn Millman (not Hillman)

EDIT probably the wrong Patricia.

Are you sure Patricia was his sister?

your all so quick!
I have got AKC Officer as mother Hilda Warne, but have recently been told .. by a cousin (just found through here) that he also had a sister called Patricia, I know he had a bro Patrick.......
when i looked at records she Patricia has Millman... sorry silly typo error... please forgive.... as mothers maiden name.... could she be child by father or adopted?

Madmeg

Madmeg Report 1 Feb 2012 22:47

Patricia's brother?

Name: OFFICER, Paul N
Registration District: Help Dartford
County: Kent
Year of Registration: 1940
Quarter of Registration: Jul-Aug-Sep
Mother's Maiden Name: Millman
Volume No: Help 2A

I am wary of saying more, as these could be living people. Have PMd netty.

nettycookingmama Report 1 Feb 2012 22:56

another brother?!
I have Edmond, Patrick, and Ronald and a sister Gillian......
my recently aquired cousin tells me of a sister Patricia who died recently....
will look to see if another marriage with Hilda

Madmeg

Madmeg Report 1 Feb 2012 23:08

I would say the death of Hilda that Brummiejan found ties up with this one for Alexander:

Name: OFFICER, Alexander
Registration District: Help Ipswich
County: Suffolk
Year of Registration: 1970
Quarter of Registration: Oct-Nov-Dec
Date of Birth: 23 November 1894
Volume No: 4B
Page No: 2415

I think your new-found cousin might not be right about that sister.

Patrick and Patricia are two different births. I can find no connection yet between Alexander and Albert E - was hoping they were brothers.

I don't think the birth cert of either Patrick or Patricia will tell you anything that we don't already know from the bmds. Not impossible, but unlikely.

Flick

Flick Report 2 Feb 2012 09:47

Ask your 'cousin' for documentary proof of his/her statements about 'Patricia' being Alan's 'sister'

Common sense dictates that she is the product of the 1939 marriage, posted above.

There would have been no point in looking for a further marriage for Hilda.......her maiden name wouldn't change, no matter how many times she married
