Hi just some thing or anything about Charles O Cave born 1893 Poplar. Parents James Thomas cave born 26.07.1857 Emma Maria Deleve about born 1870 This was James second marriage J F M 1888 Going on the 1911 census he could have been training to be a Enginner? His fathers first wife was Jane Brind born 1862 Could of had siblings James 1882 Child from first marriage of James his father to Jane Jane 1883 Child from first marriage of James his father to Jane Ethel 1896 Edith 1890 Did he marry or travel over seas anything. The image of the 1911 Census does indeed say Apprenticed Engineer ..... which means he was doing an apprenticeship (training).
This is probably Charles Ormond

He got the Victory and British Medals, and the 1915 Star for service in France
This is information on those medals .....................
1914-15 Star was awarded for service in France or Flanders (Belgium) between 23 November 1914 and 31 December 1915, or for service in any theater between 5 August 1914 and 31 December 1915
Allied Victory Medal (Victory Medal) was awarded for service in any operational theater between 5 August 1914 and 11 November 1918. It was issued to individuals who received the 1914 and 1914-15 Stars and to most individuals who were issued the British War Medal. The medal was also awarded for service in Russia (1919-1920) and post-war mine clearance in the North Sea (1918-1919).
British War Medal was awarded to both servicemen and civilians that either served in a theater of war, or rendered service overseas between 5 August 1914 and 11 November 1918. It was also awarded for service in Russia, and post-war mine clearance in the Baltic, the Black Sea, and the Caspian Sea between 1919 and 1920.

his address at discharge on 10 March 1919 was ...........
20 Odessa Rd Forest Gate
He spent 14 months in France as an infantryman, and had a Shrapnel wound through the right hand, received in April 1916. Left him with broken bones, little gripping power, and little use of fingers

It might be worth your while to buy the death certificate, and see who registered his death.
as Jax said, he does not seem to have married.

Good one, Choccie
In reading the Medical Records of Charles Ormond last night .......... I didn't go quite far enough
He was awarded the Military Medal 14-8-16 ........... posted in the London Gazette 11(??) - 9 -16
He married Minnie Maud Slater 31-8-18
Both occurred while he was based in Aldershot as a member of the 52 Company

Yes he is there in my tree am still not sure if he is the right Charles Cave. the children are soo far apart I am try to find out if he is the son for sure of James Thomas Cave 1857 who was my G Grand fathers brother who was Charles William Cave born 19.08.1855 died 6.07.1923 with all the information yous have given me now i can go a head and order the certificates and they should be the right ones. I have order so many wrong certificates B.D.& M for this Cave family of mine i have shares in the company so i needed some more help and information .and just get it so wrong i just wanted to be sure this time I have looked and never came across his army stuff so thankyou for all the help .
