some of mums gt uncles went to America/Canada can anyone help me find one for her please. This is info she has just sent me. She does have ancestry but not the right bits unfortunately

He was born John Fossett in West Ham,London in 1882.

It shows him on he Canada Soldiers of the first world war 1914-1918 – but need subscription for details.
Canadian Passenger List 1865-1935 Departure, Liverpool, England - Arrival Quebec. need subscription.
Is a John Fossett with spouse Catherine Fossett born 1881-Canada,English – on the 1910 United States Federal Census – Residence given as Suffolk,Massachusetts. Do not know if this is him.

Dawn, can you tell us John's parents names please - that can help a lot with overseas records. Do you know his date of birth?

Did your John have a married sister called Cogdale?

Dawn, don't forget that in those days a married woman may have been known by her husband's name or initials, e.g. Mrs John Smith.

Yes right date of birth
between us have suddenly clicked his sister used her husbands initials she was Jeanette and husband was Albert Cogdale.

Parents were Silvanus King Fossett and Jane Akhurst although they were the black sheeps of the family especially Silvanus and he has used several names including John King??????
would of loved to of met him as hes such an interesting character lol
