Many thanks for the burial info Cupcakes. I had the death, but if I ever get to Tasmania, I'll know where to find him now. And also for the Perth info. It looks like they would be the grandchildren of Minnie & Charles if it's the same family.

John Ladd was born 1811 in Margate, Kent. He died in Aus. 1862. I have info on him until 1851 uk census and his daughter's wedding in uk was 1854.

His brother Edward Wilds Ladd, my gt.gt.gt. grandfather was born 1800 same place. and have plenty of info on him in the uk. But, I think he went out to Aus. because a descendent of his son Matthew sent me photos taken over there. I presume only shipping records would prove he was there? He died in the Uk in 1879. It's a long shot - maybe possible that photos were taken of his portrait which is in Aus? And he didn't go out there at all. Lx
