Would someone mind looking up the "Immigration & Travel" on Ancestry for me please - I have found a couple of references (in New York Passenger Lists and UK Incoming Passenger Lists) but don't have a sub to view, so would appreciate any details that can be found. |

Thanks to GB and Choccy for the "incoming" information. I've also just found an English "Adeline Hede" with the right date of birth in the 1910 US census for New York, so I might be able to work out some approximate dates of stay from that. Just another piece of the jigsaw! |

Choccy - no, that's the same Adeline ... she was back from the trip in time for the 1911 census! But apparently she never stopped talking about it when she was young! |

Andrew - thanks so much for that .... I think the Immigration year rules out "my" Adeline Head, but it was worth a shot. I'm grateful to you. |

Reckon so Andy ... now I just need to see if the New York Passenger Lists have an entry for Adeline Head in 1907 - the "year of immigration" to see if details match up. I'll keep my fingers crossed. |

According to the Ellis Island site which is free, Adeline Taylor was going to join her uncle, Thos Taylor, 133 Sweeney? St., Passaic, New Jersey and Thomas Taylor was going home to 133 Sweeney? St., Passaic. She gives name of nearest relative in England as brother Thos. Taylor, Windsor and he gives sister but no name, 11 Lee St., Lancaster. |

Margee - thanks for this extra information .... it's all incredibly interesting (and totally unexpected). I'm very grateful to you for taking the time to look around for me. |

In addition to the NY arrival info given, Thomas Taylor states he is going home, apparently to his wife. It's possible that the address in Passaic may be Summer Street. |
