Is it possible for someone to look up for any army papers for my 2xGt. Grandfather Joseph ADDLE, he was a Sapper in the Royal Engineers Regiment No: 95637
I have a copy of the medal card.

Many thanks,
Anne-Marie

jax Report 9 Sep 2012 03:28

There is only the medal card on there. A lot of WW1 army records were destroyed during WW2 in a fire

Can you remove the word Ancestry from the title before somebody reports the post
:-)

MargaretM Report 9 Sep 2012 14:58

Who says you can't use the word Ancestry in the title? I've seen it many times.

HeyJudeB4Beatles Report 9 Sep 2012 15:04

I have had several rather threatening mails from the GR Police....for even mentioning the A-word!!!

jax

jax Report 9 Sep 2012 15:13

GR have not said we cannot use the word ancestry...this all started about nine months ago I seem to remember both you and I were rr'd on the same night Jude by some pathetic wanabee modorater

MargaretM

MargaretM Report 9 Sep 2012 15:26

Even if the pathetic wanabee rr'd the post it wouldn't do any good. The title remains and that's where the terrible dirty word is.

jax

jax Report 9 Sep 2012 15:38

As the question has been answered and the poster has seen it...does it matter whether it goes or stays?

jax

jax Report 9 Sep 2012 23:29

Come on own up who rr'd it

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 9 Sep 2012 23:39

Estelle has said that there is no restriction on using the names of other sites ............

......... we are just not supposed to denigrate them, or to denigrate GR

GlitterBaby Report 9 Sep 2012 23:45

Would have a good guess at who RR this one

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 9 Sep 2012 23:48

... and another thread has also been RR'd ......

.........asking for census information after 1851 for someone born ca 1850

Susan Report 10 Sep 2012 04:36

This is so ridiculous...no one can help with this request because we can';t see it .

I think it is about time we named and shamed who ever is guilty of RR'd.

If any one has an idea who it is name them that will stop it :-|

I for one am fed up with it and think it is about time Genes put an end to it...they must know who it is.

I would have NO hesitation in posting there names.

sue :-S

Edit ....... Jude if anyone sent me a threating email I would report them quick smart to Genes.

HeyJudeB4Beatles

HeyJudeB4Beatles Report 10 Sep 2012 06:23

The threatening email was FROM GR!! :-S

Susan

Susan Report 10 Sep 2012 06:38

Sorry jude ..did not realise your emails were from Genes.

I have always thought of the GR police as some very bored members who have nothing better to do with there time. :-S
