In consequence of a recent Family Affliction I find it necessary to leave Salisbury for a short time. I fear, therefore, that it will not be in my power to pay my respects to those of you on whom I have not as yet had the honour of waiting.

Woolmer's Exeter and Plymouth Gazette - Saturday 20 May 1843

At a recent distribution of the honours conferred on superior merit, among the Medical Students at Aberdeen, Richard Brassey Hole, youngest son of the late Rev. J Hole, rector of Wolfardisworthy and Broadwoodkelly, in this county, received a handsome Silver Medal, in testimony of his proficiency in Practical Anatomy; and a handsome Silver Lancet case, as prosector to the senior class in that department.
