I think you might be right. Just been researching Harry and it's definitely him - one of his sons mentioned Allbrook, Hampshire in a later census which is where the family lived (although that Albert Harry was actually born in London). Albert Harry's daughter Amy married an Australian and emigrated there. So I wondered whether she met this Australian because her other relatives had gone to Australia perhaps?

Excellent! Thanks Gins! I'm getting excited now. Looks like they changed the spelling of their name from what they were originally - seems quite consistently spelled Mortemore/Mortimore

I cant see a birth in Hampshire give or take a few years either side of 1847, only your Charles in 1849, so the above looks promising. However, there is a 1861 census record for a man with the same details - parents John & Louise?

Marriage certifcate will confirm either way
