Please can anyone find Jack Treasure and his wife Alice.
In the 1950`s they were living on a farm at Long Clawson, Leicestershire.
He was only known as uncle Jack but I wonder if he had another name like John as I have not been able to find a Jack Treasure there are a lot of John`s.
Believed to have had a son Arthur.
There are a lot of Treasure`s in the Somerset area so wonder if he was from that way.
Sorry I don`t have any more details.
Thank you
Sheila

Is he an actual relation, or just called 'uncle'?

Sheila

Sheila Report 23 Oct 2012 18:49

We think he is a relation but don`t know where he comes in the family.
If it is any help he was called uncle Jack by Hetley Hartley and his family who lived in Nottingham and Whitwell in Derbyshire.

Sorry for delay in getting back to you all.
I have spoken to my friend who I am helping (he does not have computer)
He is the stepson of Hetley Hartley.
Son of Hetley is James b 1951

Parents of Hetley
Ernest Hartley b 1884 Nottingham
Florence Annie James b 1885 Nottingham

Grandparents of Hetley
Joseph Hartley b 1853 Whitwell Derbyshire
Elizabeth Ruth b 1856 Whitwell

My friend thinks that Old Dalby is correct and Frank is the brother of Uncle Jack/John.

Could Sunnyside ,Old Dalby be the name of the farm.

Hope this is of help to you all.
One of my threads is for Ernest Hartley it has more info if you can get on it.

Thank you
Sheila

Are you saying that both Frank and John/Jack married women called Alice?
Have you any more information on the possible son Arthur - such as age?
If they were in their 40's in the 1950's then they were born 1900 to 1920.
The Frank that you have suggested as a brother was born 1886 - does this fit together?
Thank-you

Sheila

Sheila Report 24 Oct 2012 18:15

Hello patchem
I have just been looking on rootsweb and there is a Frank C Treasure b 1888 d1966 and he was married in 1913 to Dorothy T Musson b 1881 in Six Hills Leicestershire,
They had a son John Osborne b 1914.
This is what Vicci had found and I am wondering if my friend has it wrong and John is the son and not the brother as he thought.
Sorry I do not have any more about Arthur,I will be speaking to my friend later and will ask if he can remember any more.
Thank you
Sheila
