Trying to help or have I got this completely wrong?????? Am I looking at the wrong census????

Bridget would appear to be GALLAGHER (not Gillespie) in the 1901 - see marriage posted above
(I have found Alice and Nicholas Tomaney)

The 1901 marriage is GALLAGHER/LINSKEY (not Livesky)

The 1892 marriage is a Bridget MANNING (not McMahon)/Patrick GALLAGHER

On FMP she is transcribed as Lunskey b 1878

Thank you safc. i had ruled out the people on this record. i found them in the 1871 census, and so not the people i am looking for.

in relation to bridget mcmahon, i believe ( no i hope as ive ordered her marriage certificate!) that the name manning instead of mcmahon has been a mistake, just like the numerous spellings i have found for mcmahon.

To pair off most couples in Co Durham, use:
http://www.northeastbmd.org.uk/

Surname Forename(s) Year District
McCULLAGH Catherine 1864 Durham Western
McMAHON John 1864 Durham Western
Register No. - Entry No. - District
R16/AUCK - 14 - Durham Western (1864)
[This looks like the Auckland registrar's own register, so either a rego office marr or a non-conformist marr the registrar had to attend]

Doreen...
Am puzzled as to why you have ruled out the marriage of Catherine to John as Listed by safc. where did you find that particular couple living on 1871 Census..??
