has anyone got access to the plymouth baptism records?

I am interested in a match to a baptism for 1830.

thanks in advance.

I have access to ancestry if I can help with anything in return.

Hi, thanks for your reply.

His name is Charles Ireland, not England

I know he married Emma Littlejohns and was born about 1825. He died

I see a match to a baptism on the plymouth baptism records for 1830, so wondering if he might of been baptised a few years after his birth.

I see him with a Sarah Ireland in 1841 which I am guessing might be his mother, but of course doesn,t show relationships.

I have his marriage cert reference added to my list of ones to orde ( I live in Canada, so want to wait till I have a few to order first) So am wondering if the baptism might reveal anything if it is him.

He disappears after 1851 and I can't find any definite death for him. Emma remarries to Frederick Webber.

Thanks everyone for all your help. It doesn't look like the baptism is him, but then the Sarah Ireland in 1841 might not be his mother, who knows, what does it mean by dedication: yealmpton?

I take it the date is for baptism and not birth?

I will wait for marriage certificate and see what information that gives to his father. Will hopefully give me some more info to work from.

Vicci Report 22 Apr 2013 23:23

on his marriage certificate to Emma is his father's name mentioned?
witnesses names?

Oh thank you Liam. That must be their son, as Emma's father is Edward and her brother Edwin. I don't see him in later census though, so perhaps he died young.

CelticShiv

CelticShiv Report 23 Apr 2013 04:57

Looks like their son Charles Edwin died in Chelsea in 1857.

Emma was perhaps visiting her brother, although she is still in Plymouth in 1861 and Charles her husband is gone. So perhaps both her husband and son died and she went back to Plymouth with their daughter. That must of been very tough.

CelticShiv Report 23 Apr 2013 04:59

I would at a guess say the death in 1859 in Pancras is Charles Ireland senior, as it is the only one in London at the right time. Will add both death certs to my list to order.

CelticShiv

CelticShiv Report 23 Apr 2013 05:17

Looks like they lost two daughters too

Emma born 1851 in London and died 1851 same quarter and then Sarah born 1853 in London and died 1854.

Would explain the naming of their daughter in 1855 in Plymouth as Emma Sarah .

The only strange part is if they returned to Plymouth, why did Charles end up back in London. Unless of course Emma returned to Plymouth on her own when pregnant with Emma Sarah.
