hi can any one help please,i have got limited time on ancestery 1911 census,i have tried to find my grand father on there he was born 1909 in sheffield his older brother was called george redfern born i think 1907 sheffield.the parents were called george redfern and ellen redfern,i just can not find him any were please help thanks

Must admit I can't see them 1911 either. You say he had been in the army, when was this?
As a last try, what do you know about Ellen - birth year, father's name, birthplace?

george and sarah was my grand father alfreds grand parents and there children were my grand fathers aunts and uncles.

there was talk in the family that two children died
john and alice but not certain on those two.
but still can not find my grand father on 1911 census he died in 1980

hi george enlisted in the army 17-11-1914 for four years reg number 2954 4th battalion york and lanc.some one said there was 31 pages on him on ancestery but i can not get to see them.i was told they were damaged.
ellens mother was called martha but father unknown

Ellen's birth certificate for 1911 will have an address which may help.

On George's war records they are at the same address in 1914 when he enlisted which should read I think 6 court 10 House Hoyle Street.

Ellen was still at this address in 1935 when George died and Ellen was trying to get some sort of pension for him.
These records are also on his war papers.
