trying to parents and siblings of eliza prizeman born 1886 in lewisham died in 1933 lewisham and married alan raymond guichard in 1909 i have all their children but just can not go further back on this line i have had a look on familysearch.org as i am unable to find her there either

i am doing this post as i seem to have lost my previous post

Are you sure Eliza's birth was registered in Lewisham? The 1911 census gives her birthplace as Deptford. Deptford came under Greenwich district and there is a baptism for an Eliza Prizeman at Greenwich St Peter on 5th April 1885. She was born March 17 1885 and her parents are Walter and Mary Ann Prizeman of 7 Ferry Place. Dad Walter was a lighterman. Baptized at the same time was her older brother Alfred who was born 7th Mar 1882 (or it could have been November 1882).

I haven't yet found them in the 1891 census. In the 1901 census Walter is there as a bargeman, but his wife is given as Eliza not Mary Ann, and Alfred is with them, but there is no trace of daughter Eliza.

Sorry, haven't time to look any further tonight.

The 1891 transcript for Walter that Rootgatherer found is totally different to the image. I don't know if you were aware of this.

Looks like Walter had the 2 elder boys with him and had someone caring for the 2 younger children.

I think this is possibly Mary Ann:

It is close in age to this:
Births Sep 1847 Day Mary Ann Stepney 2 454 (Stepney was the registration district for Limehouse at the time.)

Walter may have been away when Mary Ann died and the informant of the death registration may not have known her exact birth date.

Well found Ozibird. I just couldn't find a death for her but everything was pointing to a possible death prior to 1891.

Thanks rg. I can't find any marriage for Walter to Isabel though.

The crossing out of marriage years and children on 1911 might be by the collator as only women were supposed to give that info. Interesting that he had 10 children and we know of 8.
