Im trying to trace a thomas carter born abt 1909 or 1910 at ecclesall who later married in 1931 to norah rhodes.

Trace in what way ? backwards or forwards?

Any idea who parents were or siblings?

Where did you get the 1931 marriage as it isnt showing

strangely Ancestry doesn't have that marriage listing :-(

All ive got about him is he was born abt 1910 in ecclesall and married 1931again Iin ecclesall also he died in 1952.

I'm not seeing a Thomas Carter born 1909/1910 Ecclesall Bierlow on the 1911 census.

Even if i did........there is no way of knowing if he is actually your Grandfather.

Do you have any other info about him?

Do you know if he had any siblings?

It might be in your best interest to purchase a copy of his marriage cert, which will hopefully give you information as to who his father was, and his fathers occupation.

Thomas carter definitely had siblings but unfortunately we are unsure of their names, all we know is he married norah rhodes in 1931.

I think you will need to purchase the marriage cert.

Thomas carter maybe had a brother walter and a sister nellie.

Do you know if Walter and Nellie were older or younger than Thomas?

Obviously if they were younger......they wont appear with Thomas on the 1911 census.

I have now got the marriage certificate for thomas carter and norah rhodes who were married 31.1.1931. I now know that thomas's father was also called thomas. Does anyone have any more information please.

.....................Your really need the birth certificate to find out mother's name, it will also give you her maiden name which will help find a marriage for the parents.
