Could anyone with access to overseas records be able to me about the marriage between
Ernest Adolphus Thums (often known as just Adolphus) born 1895 and his wife who I believe to be called Anna.
Ernest was born in New York to Annie Kirkby and Arthur Albert Thums.

As your query was the date of marriage, the nearest we can get based on the 1930 census, is that it took place 1925 +/- 1

No children appeared on that or the 1940 census.

Hm, still no children. This basically means the family stopped over there now, no kids

Can't find Arthur on the 1940 - it could be poorly transcribed. The census is available on Familysearch.org

Births and marriages aren't held by the National Government in the US - they are held at state or even county level. There aren't that many of them on line.
The same applies to deaths, although the SSDI did partially come into effect from 1937, with most records dating from 1967. It can be searched on Familysearch for free.

Looking at the tree as a whole, the tree owner, Sukilover, is the grandaughter Annis Stover, through a child of her first marriage.
