Did Nellie have sons named Ronald and Raymond?

Dea

Dea Report 12 Feb 2014 10:01

I really think that Roy has posted the most obvious 'possible' death cert for this lady.

Deaths Mar 1934
Stevens Nellie 28 Wellingbro' 3b 172

There do not seem to be any others to fit, using the info we have been given.

I would order this cert if only to eliminate, but my feeling is that it will be the correct one.

So you think she married at the age of 13?

..........at least the 1936 death is in the same County, and for someone old enough to have married in 1919

Porkie_Pie Report 12 Feb 2014 10:13

I'm open to either, I did see the one Reggie posted but i posted the one i found nearest to date of death, and location

We all no that age on death certs are not to be relied on

Even the Blofield death had a date of birth issue

Roy

ErikaH Report 12 Feb 2014 10:15

We also know that info passed down through generations is not always to be relied on

Dea

Dea Report 12 Feb 2014 10:17

You 'do' have a point Reggie - I was on page 2 and so missed the last post on page 1 for the 1936 death.

As Roy says though, the ages on death certs can often be wrong so either of them is possible.

Reggie, Jayne never confirmed anything found last night despite several attemps from several members, Until she returns with confirmation of her dates and comments on what has been found then we are just speculating

Of course we are................as is normal

But the distance is also a factor - do you realise how far Wellingborough is from Clenchwarton?

Hope that clarifies the situation

Wisbech to Wellingborough is approx 44 miles whereas Wisbech to Blofield is 54 miles which, in fact, makes Wellingborough closer Reggie ??

Both a fair distance away but not much difference between them (as the crow flies).

Porkie_Pie Report 12 Feb 2014 11:09

Just to say, Distance according to google maps from Terrington st Clement to Blofield is 61.8 miles

Terrington st Clement to Wellingborough is 67.9

Wisbech to Wellingborough is 53.1

Wisbech to Blofield is 63.8

about the same from Clenchwarton Edit, with 54.9 to Blofield

The Calculation by Google is by road

So in my opinion distances are very much simular

Jayne Report 12 Feb 2014 12:54

Hi everybody,
I've found the info for my grandma - she died and the registration is WISBECH!
I will see if I can get the right one!
Thanks to all
Jayne

Porkie_Pie

Porkie_Pie Report 12 Feb 2014 14:02

Sorry Jayne but If the registration is WISBECH then it is not listed on the GRO index for 1933, I did check the index images for 1933 and there was NO entry for Nellie Stevens in WISBECH in that year.

It's possibe she was missed off the GRO index,

You could contact the registry office who hold the registers

Registers currently held at : Cambridgeshire and Norfolk.

If you know where she died then use this link to find out which office her death record are held

As Jayne hasn't actualy confirmed anything apart from she has found info that her grandma died and the registration is WISBECH

Where did Jayne find the death registration?

when was it registered?

And with absolutly NO confirmation that anything posted/found by the members helping is actualy for the correct Nellie Stevens
