I think Herbert and Gertrude had more than one child as Maurice's death notice describes him as a son and brother:

Thanks for that MarieCeleste. You have just jogged a memory. I remember my mum talking about Gwen, but I thought she was a twin. The name Vicky (Victoria?) also comes to mind.
