I took the information from other people's trees on GR, I am now checking it out.
Apparently one of his children is Susannah but I can't find her birth anywhere.
Also I have been in touch with other members but have had no replies yet.

The last three entries definitely fit in with what I have. I didn't know the spouse's surname so many thanks for that.
I'll try and find out whether they had any children. :-)

BeverleyW

BeverleyW Report 20 May 2014 13:58

I can't see any children born to the couple in Sedgley. Maybe they moved to another part of Staffs. or elsewhere.

Sorry safc is right, the two births to an Absalom and Eleanor are a different family. There are an awful lot of Astons in Sedgley.

Karin Report 20 May 2014 14:10

You've been a great help anyway, I found out that Susannah was born in Dover so they could have moved? I'll have a look into that.
On the other hand that information could be incorrect so if they idn't have any offspring than I'll have to start again! x

Unless the other trees show evidence of documentary proof of their 'findings' treat them with extreme caution.

You haven't said how you relate to these people...................you must have a reason for looking for info about them

Thank you, I need to start from scratch with Susannah Aston. <3

HeyJudeB4Beatles

HeyJudeB4Beatles Report 20 May 2014 20:01

I have Abel and Elinor in my tree. My husband is descended from their son Thomas.

There is a recurring middle name in the family of Styche and so, with no evidence whatsoever, I have Elinor as Elinor Stytch born Broseley in 1733. Can't find a marriage that fits though...and she would be a very young mother/bride

LIke most people my Aston line owes a lot to guesswork on Familysearch. It's only when I get down about three generations to Elizabeth Aston that I start to guess less.

Can't help more - sorry!

That's ok, there are just too many of them! I need to go back to the start. It's frustrating as I can't find susannah aston, born Dover anywhere. :-)

HeyJudeB4Beatles

HeyJudeB4Beatles Report 20 May 2014 21:16

I would be very suspicious of a birth that far from staffordshire or shropshire. They didn't travel far in those days. The family moved to wolverhampton at some point before the hunts moved to newport to work in the iron snd steel industry

Karin

Karin Report 21 May 2014 09:17

I know, I can't understand that either....it seems unlikely.
However according to the 1841 census her place of birth is down as Dover. I checked the image of the original page and it does say Dover underneath her husband's name.
