Find Ancestors

Eleanor married Samuel Edward Perry 21Oct 1914 at the Registry Office in Southampton. Her father shown as Charles Edward Bennett described as an engine fitter. Eleanor gave her age as 21 yrs(1893). Birth index shows an Eleanor Emma Bennett born 1894 Fulham. I found a baptism for Eleanor 9 Sep 1894 St Mathew West Kensington with parents Charles Edward and Emma.
Problem is that I can not find her on any census with or without parents. There is a possibility of her family showing up in 1911at 68 St Dunstan Rd,Fulham with Charles Edward described as a motor builder.
I would like to find info re parents without resorting to birth cert which in any case would give mother's maiden name. Can anyone help please?

The 1901/11 look good as the correct family and the 1911 census with her in Warwickshire looks a good possibility. The 1914 marriage cert has her as a Domestic Servant. The next question is did her parents marry?

In 1901, Emma Bennett (nee Scutt?) is 8 years older than her husband, I'm wondering if the age gap was actually even greater. Emma Bennett's birthplace was given as Arundel, Sussex.

However the image says father Henry was a labourer rather than the brewer he was on the marriage reg. All born Arundel, except wife Mary, who was born Walburton.

By 1891, Emma Scutt has made it to Ilkley, where she married Charles Edward Bennett as posted earlier. The lady of the house hailed from Arundel, Sussex, and seems to have recruited a couple of staff, including Emma Scutt, from there.

I think this is the death of Charles Edward's father, shortly before the marriage of Charles and Emma at Ilkley, as Wokingham covers West Swallowfield, where George was residing in census 1891 that I posted previously.

Thanks for that info. It looks good. Familysearch has a baptism for an Emma Scutt for 29 Mar 1857 Arundel with parents Henry and Mary Ann. Nothing shows for Charles Edward.
