This is just a long shot I know I am looking for my friends dad
Patrick McEvoy born 1904/5 in Cork
He left for Australia just before or just after she was born in 1937 he was living in Cumberland around that time
Does any sites have Australian BMD you can look at

Can't see a passenger record to match your info....none in or near 1937 to any country

For Australian BMD, try googling.........

1911 Irish census has no record match, either.

what else do you know about him? who did he marry? what is your firiemd's name?

It was thought he went to Australia just before or after she was born 1937 but maybe it was another country..her name is Brand sorry the info is so little think he was single

He was, I would say, rather old at 32-ish to be sowing wild oats.................is it absolutely certain he was born as early as your post says.

She was Laura Brand born 1907 in Cumberland but but her daughter was Brand too don't think Laura ever married so they were both oldish

So the daughter is Doreen but transcribed as Doreeh

Laura died in 1995 if she did not marry

the daughter is Freda Brand

The daughter was born in Westmorland not Cumberland

Presume she has her birth cert .how did she know the dads name ? If her mum told her maybe she was given other info about him

Perhaps it was Patrick who told fibs for that very same reason.

Yes could be because it was just a short fling ..never thought of that because Carlisle is quite close and its thought he was working away from home

Does Freda actually have a copy of her birth certificate?

If so........exactly what information does it give regarding her father?

Idont know if it will help any but Laura and Patrick were working together in a Hotel in London in 1935/6 Freda was born Nov 1936 she came back to Kendal..Also all she knew was he had a few sisters

I think the first port of call would be for Freda to purchase a copy of her birth cert to see if it provides any information regarding her father.

Having said that.....as her birth was registered with MMN Brand, I doubt he is on there.

Unfortunately, the Patrick Albert Mcavoy born 1905 does not appear on the 1911 census.
