JoonieCloonie Report 7 Sep 2015 17:56

John I would certainly write to the funeral home and ask whether they would pass a message to the family ... the funeral was only 8 years ago so there is every chance the funeral home (or cemetery) would have contact info

............. and of course there is google which finds this message from Donald's brother-in-law:

http://boards.ancestry.ca/thread.aspx?mv=flat&m=206&p=surnames.mckenna

that is 15 years old ... but there are more recent mentions of that brother-in-law on line

he lives (google maps tells me) in a rural area outside Hamilton ... but unfortunately I can't seem to find a telephone listing

That's brilliant ArgyllGran! I also found through Google an obituary for Donald (Ronald and Carrie's son) on a website:

http://www.obitsforlife.com/obituary/458962/McKenna-Donald.php

The obituary mentions a lot of the family but I am finding it totally confusing regarding his siblings - if you read it you'll see what I mean.

Thanks again.

Unfortunately, the names are so common that without some corroborating info such as father's name, there's no way of knowing if he's your Robert or not.
