The parents of Ernest James born 1879 are William and Katherine as shown in the 1881 census above.

Have you bought / got a copy of the marriage certificate of Ernest James and Mary Hayhoe please? That will confirm the fathers' names and occupations.

Looking at the 1939 register it would appear that Ernest James had remarried so he either divorced Mary or more likely she had died.

Possible death for Mary but without the marriage certificate we have no idea of her possible year of birth.

Census gives his dob as 28/9/1878
His actual birth cert says 29/8/1878
His death certificate address is 52 pownall crescent Colchester.
First wife Mary died in 1924.
kate dixies dad is george wright.

So.....if you have Ernest actual birth certificate, you knew his parents were? You presumably have his second marriage certificate if you know that Kate's father was George?

Nope! You haven't missed anything Chris or if you have, I missed it too! I guess we have just spent time finding the information that Kim already had. :-(

Kim, I don't understand your opening post "Looking for info on Ernest James hayman, have not found a DOB, death or marriage". Yet you appear to have all that information. Can you please tell us exactly what information you want?

I deleted half the tree I did thinking wrongly.... now put it all back in place.
