rootgatherer Report 27 Feb 2016 10:08

Jane, it's from the 1939 register. I don't know that it really helps. Can you by any chance identify the person whose record is closed?

Do you have any idea of an approximate year of birth for Harry Watson? Just wondering if we can find him on the register. Of course he may be a Henry or Harold or something just to complicate matters lol

rootgatherer

rootgatherer Report 27 Feb 2016 10:17

Looking at the probate for Kate, this looks like Harold

Harold Percival Talbot
Birth Date: 18 Jun 1893
Date of Registration: Mar 1976
Age at Death: 82
Registration district: Grantham
Inferred County: Lincolnshire
Volume: 7
Page: 1693

EDIT

Forget that, that probate was for the Kate Alice not your Kate.

Thanks rootgatherer. I have no idea who the third person is on the 1939. the only person I can't account for is someone called Dennis Gray. Apparently he is the son of John William Gray. I am not sure who the mother is though. ? Sarah Niles or Mary E Proctor (nee Carratt) .

Johns other children include:-
Mary Alice b1907 -she married Alfred Overton
John William Gray b 1910 he died in 1916
James Gray he died in 1916
Sidney gray b1917 - 1933
Hilda 1919 married Arthur Eggitt
Mary Gray married Alfred Overton

That leaves Dennis unaccounted for. The only birth I can find is for 1906 b Doncaster. This would make Sarah Niles his Mum. This would be before they married. The only thing is Dennis does not show on the 1911 with his parents.

As for Harry Watson I have no information on him at all. Sorry.

Thanks again

From John Grays obituary it states that R H Watson was his step son. So perhaps Harry is not his first name.

Also he is married in 1943 but I do not know who to.

It also mentiosns a brother and sister in law by the name of Mr and Mrs A. E Watson.

It says John has an adopted son Mr P Cassidy I know nothing about.

I don't know whether any of this helps

Jane.

It looks likely although it says Kate is a widow and comes from Winchester. All the other census she comes from Yorkshire.

The rest of it looks good.

Thanks again
